Why I'm Going Back to Upsizers (You Asked, So Here's the Real Story)

A few months ago, I made a shift in my business. If you've followed me for a while, you probably noticed — I started talking a lot more about downsizing, about helping people simplify, let go, and move into the next chapter of life.

Here's the truth: that shift wasn't a marketing decision. It was personal.

My parents were downsizing, and I was right there with them, sorting through 50+ years of memories, figuring out what to keep, what to let go of, what a smaller home even looks like after decades in a big one. It was emotional. It was logistical. It was a lot. And going through it with them, not just for a client, changed how I understood that whole side of a move.

So I leaned into it. I started working with more downsizing clients, and I'm genuinely grateful for that season,  it taught me things about this business I couldn't have learned any other way.

But here's what I kept coming back to: for over 30 years, the people I've helped the most, and honestly, love working with the most, are the busy professionals and growing families who are upsizing. The ones outgrowing their space. The ones with a nursery where the office used to be, a kitchen table buried in paperwork, a family that's simply grown bigger than the walls around them.

And a lot of you noticed the shift too. I've had clients, past clients, and even friends ask, "Wait, aren't you the downsizing  person? What happened to the Systems Approach?"

So, here's my answer: I'm coming home to what I do best.

I'm refocusing on helping busy Calgary professionals upsize into a home that actually supports their life — using my Strategic Transition Method, the process I built over three decades of doing exactly this.

And honestly? My time with my parents' downsize made me better at this, not just okay at something else. It gave me a deeper appreciation for how emotional a home transition is at any stage of life, and how much a clear, structured process matters when everything else feels like a lot. That's something I now bring into every upsizing move I guide, with even more care than before.

If you're outgrowing your space, whether that's a growing family, a home office that's taken over the dining table, or just a life that's expanded past what your current home can hold, this is exactly where I want to help.
